yeah.. i was there.. we were there.. cynthia, olivia, carmela, faith at ako.. we arrived at the fort at about thirty minutes past four.. post meridiem.. when we got out of the taxi, i heard john joe's voice.. and claire's.. then when we were walking around the field, trying to find the fucking green gate, they (the vj's) announced that giniling festival was up next.. shit. i almost freaked out, (i'd like to see their performance kase) BECAUSE WE COULDN'T FIND THE FUCKING GREEN GATE!! we saw the orange ang blue gates.. and because we couldn't find the gate we were looking for, we tried our luck to get in those gates.. but the bouncers didn't let us in.. fuck. the manong security guard just instructed us how to get to that green gate.. at last, we're in. the green gate was at the back of the stage.. i hurried to the front to watch giniling festival's performance.. guess what? they're done! shit. to relieve my disappointment (and our hunger), we checked out some of the food booths to see if any of them would satisfy our interests and of course, ourr budget.. there were hotdogs, shawarma, yeahyeahyeahs, blahblahblahs, etc..i didn't like them.. until we saw the chicken barbecue.. we were attracted by its smell and price (at seventy pesos lang!! may two chicken cuts ka na, may rice pa! cheap noh? pero masarap..) then we kept on walking to find a decent place to eat our food.. and there we found the sidewalk.. we ate there, we didn't really care about the people who were watching us while we were eating..

 

"uy, paramita na!", said cynthia and olivia..

"okay...", i replied..

 

and the two of them just sang their hearts out in a song of paramita that i don't even know.. when i heard the intro of their second piece, sabi ko, "hiling yan dba?" and they were like, "hindi, ibang kanta yan..", ... "okay, sabi nio eh.." ... then ria sang: "nahihirapan na.." hehehe.. hiling!!!

 

i was about to finish my food when john joe and claire introduced the next band as the brew.. that was the moment i really freaked out.. (di ako exag magfreakout kaya di halata..).. i didn't know which i would focus on, my food or the band.. when i realized that i couldn't even see doc's face clearly, i continued with my eating.. when we were all done with our food, two guys approached us..

 

"gusto niong pumawesto dun sa pinakaharap?"

"sure! pano?"

"samahan nio lang kami ayos na"

"okay"

"kasi ganito yan, nagpapapasok lang kasi sila ng mga babae, so please sama nio kami, sabihin nio close tayo.."

"okay.."

 

and there we were.. at the crowded "moshpit" area entrance.. trying to get the bouncers'  attention and approval to our request..

"manong, 5 girls and 5 guys?!"

pokerface.. fine..

"manong, 5 girls and 2 guys?!"

"sige."

yahooo!! yebah!! we're in! unfortunately, the 3 guys would have to try their luck next time and part ways with their 2 bestfriends.. i didn't care.. i was happy!! haha! instant entrance! :) and i would see doc!! but.. unfortunately (again) after we entered, they left the stage..

later on, i found out that those guys are from asia pacific college...

"di ba sponsor dito last yr ang apc?"

"oo. kaya nga marami kaing tickets eh, pinamigay sa skul namin.."

"okay.." , "kami din eh, sa quesci.. quesci.." - > banat ni faith..

"okay..." , reply nila..

"di nio ba alam na nagpapapasok ng mga babae?"

"di eh.."

"ah.."

"thank you ah!! whatever.."

 

and then, the great jeepney joyride was introduced..

"pwede ba kayo makilala?" , sabi nung isa..

"hindi.." sabi ni faith.. haha

 

after that, we didn't see any traces of them na.. hahaha..

before the main show even started, faith already said goodbye.. and the other people at the front - literally, as in situated at the bars.. hahaha!! - left so it gave me and carmela some space to fit ourselves into.. it was a long wait - a very long wait - that we just sat there and set our ears for louder and more performances later that night..

and then there was april and her back-up dancers posing at the stage.. tapos un, sumayaw sha habang kumakanta ng kanta nia.. "stay real with me" ata ung title.. watever.. pagkatapos nung performance nia, lumabas na ung mga vj's.. marc abaya, kc montero, mariel rodriguez aand cindy kurleto..
